Dr. Femino specializes in adult reconstructive surgery and joint replacement. Chief of Orthopaedics at Clara Maass Medical Center, Dr. Femino has performed more than 5000 joint replacement surgeries, primarily of the hip and knee.
Dr. Femino has been recognized for his expertise in performing minimally invasive procedures, resulting in quicker recovery and less pain. His state-of-the-art surgical techniques include outpatient minimally invasive knee replacement.
A graduate of the New Jersey Institute of Technology, Dr. Femino ranked first in his class with a degree in Mechanical Engineering. He also received numerous awards for academic excellence. He received his MD from the University of Medicine and Dentistry of New Jersey (now Rutgers) where he went on to complete a residency in Orthopaedic Surgery. He then completed a fellowship in adult reconstructive surgery and joint replacement at the Rothman Institute, University of Pennsylvania and Thomas Jefferson University in Philadelphia.
Dr. Femino is a fellow of the American Board of Orthopaedic Surgery and the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons. He is a member of the American Association of Hip and Knee Surgeons, the Medical Society of New Jersey, and Essex County Medical Society.
Dr. Femino is the Medical Director of the Orthopaedic Joint Institute at Clara Maass Medical Center. As a result of his leadership, the institution has had excellent clinical outcomes.
